Establishment of KVK

The Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Kanker is a district level Farm Science Center established during 2007 by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), New Delhi at Indira Gandhi Krishi Vishwavidalaya, Raipur, Chhattisgarh for effective transfer of agriculture technology to the farmer’s fields in the district.

The Kanker KVK has excelled in bringing modern technological packages at the farmers doorstep with the help of various instructional units. The KVK today has sufficient resources to impart training skills for not only the farmers but also the rural youth.

The objective of Kanker KVK is to bring about improvement in productivity through transfer of economically viable and environmentally sound technologies on various aspects such as crop production, farm mechanization, horticulture, etc., and improve farm mechanization status of the district and rural entrepreneurship in agriculture and establish strong linkage with farmers and line departments for rapid developments in agriculture and reduce farm women drudgery.
